Tales Of Arise First Impressions

I don't have a ton of time to play the games I want. It's infuriating. Jobs and responsibilities get in the way. Why does life have to be so dang needy?!

I want to be involved and immersed in a fantasy world while fighting giant monsters. Invading castles and taking down the big baddies.

Enter: Tales Of Arise.

This is the 4067th entry in the series of which I have played 0. Joking aside, I have actually NEVER played a Tales game and there have been 17 games so far.

As a first timer, I had no idea what I was in for. 30 some hours in, I can say what I got was a good time.  Out of all the games I currently playing (Scarlet Nexus, Final Fantasy 7, The Yakuza series, etc) Tales of Arise is consistently on my mind.

After the first initial hour or so, I was a tad overwhelmed as the game has a metric ton of dialogue and stoppages. So I felt like I was getting more of a cinematic experience rather than a game. I trudged on and gave it a bit more. It started to flesh out.

The gameplay is pretty straightforward as in an RPG form. You run into the creatures and start a battle. You then get to use combo attacks and super moves (known in Tales as Artes). Team up attacks (or strike attacks), character swapping and item usage are all present here.

I get a good feeling battling almost every enemy I encounter and even more so when I actually level up and collect enough skill points to beef up my group. On this front, I am very pleased.

Graphically, ToA is awesome. I am playing on the PS5 so I get all the nitty gritty details of fire particles and weapon slashes embedded into my eyeballs. Yummy.

The story is pretty cool and some characters have super RPG-like names which I absolutely love. (Balseph, anyone? *Hehe*) You're the typical hero that cannot remember his name or why he is so awesome, that is, until you do. You run with a rag tag crew of people you normally wouldn't roll with. You are burdened with saving the entire planet as no one else can. R. P. G.

Jumping into an established series was daunting and I don't really think I needed to play any of the others before this to understand anything. That's great for a newcomer like me. What we have is a solid Role Playing Game with fun mechanics and pretty cool cinematics and lore.

If you are thinking of getting yourself into a new game this fall, I really do recommend Tales Of Arise. Satisfying systems (cooking food for buffs, changing your outfits and leveling up your skills based on titles you acquire and more) and a super catchy anime styled theme song make this an even easier pick.

Disney Dreamlight Valley: How To Equip And Use Your Glider

Are you wondering how to use your new Glider in Disney Dreamlight Valley? Have no fear as I am here to tell you exactly how to do it! If you happen to be blasting or skipping through menus in Disney Dreamlight Valley, you may be wondering how the heck to equip that shiny new surfboard glider you got. Well, all you have to do is go to your Wardrobe, scroll down to Gliders and select it! Easy as a hot dog! But how do you hop on this thing and use it? Well for that, first you MUST make sure your stamina bar is in the yellow. You do this by eating cooked meals that will take you above your maximum stamina bar. Once this is complete, just run for a few seconds until an icon appears in the bottom left side of the screen. Tap that button (For me, on Xbox, it's B) and PERFECTO! You'll be gliding in no time! Make sure to pay attention to your stamina bar as it will run out pretty quickly though! For more tips, opinions, and overall shenanigans, make sure to leave a comment and come back...

Movie Backlog: The Fast And The Furious (2001)

I'm a bit ashamed of myself. And, to a point, somewhat proud. I have never watched any of the Fast and Furious movies other than 2 Fast 2 Furious for some reason. So I got sick over the weekend and decided to start watching the entire season to see what I have missed over the last 20 years. Here are some of my thoughts on the first movie into this adrenaline-filled, NOS-injected, action-packed love story.  The Fast This movie starts out at a pretty fast pace. Quick racing, quick fights, all the machismo you can shake a stick at. We get to follow Brian O'Connor, played by the late Paul Walker. A blonde surfer type who is an undercover cop sent to investigate the infamous street racing gang leader, Dom Toretto (Vin Diesel). This is because a bunch of truck's have been hijacked and good ole Dommy boy is the main suspect. We find out the Brian likes tuna sandwiches. Pretty dang cool I guess. I'm not a car guy and I will never pretend to be, but what I noticed is there are ...

Drova Review - An RPG Worthy Of Your Time

A dark and mysterious world awaits you! When I first loaded up Drova: Forsaken Kin, I was welcomed with some sort of familiarity. I felt like I have been here before. It wasn't a bad feeling, it was just that: a feeling. As I progressed through the opening moments, I already found myself wondering about the world I was in. "Why am I here?" This means that the story, the art, and the atmosphere already had me hooked. Drova is an action RPG with retro styled graphics that take me back to the older Diablos. With a loot system, crafting, side quests, and more, you feel right at home. The campaign itself is 40 hours! Well, a lot more if you are like me and take your time doing all the wrong things of exploration. Let's get into some nitty-gritty of the world of Drova and see if you should pick this up yourself. The story itself is a big mystery throughout. Per it's description:   Encounter a society where ancient restless spirits and divided factions battle for domina...
