Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising Has Been My Stress Relief

In a time filled with First Person Shooters, Season Passes and never ending loot, Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising halts that with a peaceful and happy filled soundtrack mixed with easy to handle controls and supremely elegant visuals.

Sure, you often find yourself repeating levels over and over but they're not that long. Fetch quests galore? Yep. Again, not an issue. Fighting my way through evil bats, plants that shoot seeds at me and the occasional giant tree that comes to life only to attempt to rip out my soul, I've never been happier to hop back and forth between Town and Dungeon (level? area? fighting space!).

Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising is the precursor to 505 Games and Rabbit & Bear Studios' upcoming Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes which is essentially a spiritual successor to the Suikoden Series. It's basically the original creators who started such a huge Kickstarter to get the game launched into the atmosphere.

In Rising, though, you take over as CJ. A young, inspired adventurer set out to find a bigger treasure than her ancestors could haul. You know, as a rite of passage.

The game is filled with some pretty funny and honestly, realistic dialogue. Seeing a "Yussssss" in a response bubble from a main character is not only sort of jarring (not in a bad way) but also makes me realize that she is 16 and I am not. So why am I texting like that to my friends?

Rising is a side scrolling action RPG where you boop, slash and magic your enemies into oblivion with combos that can be upgraded. You are sent to collect materials, items, journals and ingredients to build a town to ultimate glory. The action is fast paced and even though you're in the same areas a lot, it never really feels stale. Upgrading your characters armor or weapons gives you access to new abilities.

You also have two other companions to join you on your quest. Switching between them confused me at first (it's a literal button press and then only that same button for their attack) but I was learning "Link Attacks" in no time. Instantaneously swapping my attacks and destroying all that is in my path.

Doing favors for others is usually what I complain about the most. In real life and in video games. This game makes me feel like I actually want to. I know I'll get some extra money to spend on buffs or new abilities. I dig it.

I have sort of needed to take a break from chaos. Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising does just that by letting me do things at my own pace and enjoying the heck out of some nice looking Sprites and backgrounds.

I enjoy the game so much I put it on my YouTube channel: Chill Game Plus. Check that out and relax for once. You need it.

Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising is out now on: Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and Series S, Microsoft Windows

Disney Dreamlight Valley: How To Equip And Use Your Glider

Are you wondering how to use your new Glider in Disney Dreamlight Valley? Have no fear as I am here to tell you exactly how to do it! If you happen to be blasting or skipping through menus in Disney Dreamlight Valley, you may be wondering how the heck to equip that shiny new surfboard glider you got. Well, all you have to do is go to your Wardrobe, scroll down to Gliders and select it! Easy as a hot dog! But how do you hop on this thing and use it? Well for that, first you MUST make sure your stamina bar is in the yellow. You do this by eating cooked meals that will take you above your maximum stamina bar. Once this is complete, just run for a few seconds until an icon appears in the bottom left side of the screen. Tap that button (For me, on Xbox, it's B) and PERFECTO! You'll be gliding in no time! Make sure to pay attention to your stamina bar as it will run out pretty quickly though! For more tips, opinions, and overall shenanigans, make sure to leave a comment and come back...

Movie Backlog: The Fast And The Furious (2001)

I'm a bit ashamed of myself. And, to a point, somewhat proud. I have never watched any of the Fast and Furious movies other than 2 Fast 2 Furious for some reason. So I got sick over the weekend and decided to start watching the entire season to see what I have missed over the last 20 years. Here are some of my thoughts on the first movie into this adrenaline-filled, NOS-injected, action-packed love story.  The Fast This movie starts out at a pretty fast pace. Quick racing, quick fights, all the machismo you can shake a stick at. We get to follow Brian O'Connor, played by the late Paul Walker. A blonde surfer type who is an undercover cop sent to investigate the infamous street racing gang leader, Dom Toretto (Vin Diesel). This is because a bunch of truck's have been hijacked and good ole Dommy boy is the main suspect. We find out the Brian likes tuna sandwiches. Pretty dang cool I guess. I'm not a car guy and I will never pretend to be, but what I noticed is there are ...

A.K.I Slithers into Street Fighter 6!

The second Street Fighter 6 DLC character is here! A.K.I, a brand new character to the series arrived this week, just in time for Halloween. Her slithery, unsettling, poison wielding moves will be sure to not only creep out players, but also shake things up for the online warriors out there.    She has a mix of mid and long range range moves, plus projectiles and specials that inflict poison on the opponent. Her moveset and specials take inspiration from F.A.N.G. Well... not surprising because she's an apprentice of F.A.N.G! Not only that, she's a little bit obsessed with him. Ok, maybe A LOT bit obsessed. Don’t worry though, she’s way cooler than F.A.N.G. Her design (I'm still 50/50 on the hair) and engaging move set make her way more appealing to use than her obsession.   Street Fighter's YouTube page has a great breakdown of her gameplay. If you want to learn a bit about her move set, strengths, and weaknesses, I recommend that you watch! So far I’m having a blast us...
