I've got you in my sights....
But I cannot play you.
Overwatch 2 has been a game I have been excited to play. Not because its new or refreshed or for any other reason. I like Overwatch. That is it. Overwatch is a fun game that has been one I go to play and relieve stress for years now.
That has since changed.
The upgrade to Overwatch 2 has not been smooth. That is saying it nicely. From millions of players not even able to access the game on launch and even 3 days after. Once people did get in, a lot of their merge content from the first Overwatch was missing. THEN once the content has returned, Blizzard somehow managed to lock half of the characters from a majority of the players.
Even at the time of this writing I got kicked out of a ranked match and placed in a never ending queue of log in errors.
I get that launch days ever since 2010 have been absolutely horrendous but it is still very frustrating to even get remotely excited about video game releases in this day.
As mentioned before it wasn't upsetting missing out on the new changes as the main difference is 5 v 5 team gameplay instead of 6 v 6. It was more not even being able to get to play.
I. MISS. OVERWATCH.
To their credit, Blizzard is working diligently on the major issues and it cannot be easy. I am sure they'll get to minor UI issues, character skins and the sort eventually. It is difficult to not get wrapped up in the madness with such a huge community and fanbase that Overwatch has. The pressure is unreal.
I hope we can get to the point where live service games don't get review bombed for their first week being released. I want games to come out perfect and I absolutely get that they cannot. A boy can dream and dream I shall.
