Hunt The Night REVIEW

Are you into supernatural type things? Vampires, beasts, or spooky cults?

Hunt the Night on PC delivers these things to you in an exciting and immersive supernatural experience that will keep players hooked from start to finish. This 2D action-adventure game manages to capture the essence of classic side-scrolling platformers while infusing it with a fresh and captivating narrative. With its nostalgic art style, engaging gameplay mechanics, and challenging enemies, "Hunt the Night" offers a highly enjoyable experience for fans of action!

One of my favorite features of "Hunt the Night" is its pixel art visuals. The awesomely crafted environments are rich in detail, with vibrant colors that bring the game world to life. Each area is distinct and visually appealing, adding to the overall feeling of being in the world you're playing in! Whenever a game can grab my attention with pixels or sprites, I'm usually more keen on giving it more time just for that alone. A little biased? Sure, but dang do these visuals have a place in my heart and take me back to the times of A Link To The Past.

The gameplay mechanics are a nice blend of combat, exploration, and puzzle-solving. The controls are responsive and intuitive, allowing for smooth movement and precise actions but sometimes those precise actions can be sort of daunting to pull off. It's recommended at the start of the game to play with a controller and I could not stress that enough. I played with an Xbox controller and it made way more sense than with a keyboard. Combat encounters are challenging but fair, requiring players to strategize and utilize a variety of weapons, abilities, and power-ups to overcome creepy foes. The game can also get in its own way sometimes though with aiming issues and questionable environmental boxes.

Bosses are SUPER challenging but ultimately a good time. It really does provide you with those "YES" moments when you finally take down one of the big baddies. I may have retried certain bosses over and over again but found it was mostly my own wrongdoing that caused me to be brought to my doom. You will find yourself being able to upgrade or get some buffs to sort of save your life or give you just enough edge to prevail. It never felt overpowering (you actually get limited to what you can equip) but never felt useless either. I feel that is pretty fair.

The story in "Hunt the Night" is everything you would find in a Souls type story. You are a creature hunter and you have to hunt some creatures of the night. Make sense? That's because the story is pretty much as basic as that. It's not terrible by any means but let us be realistic, we just want to slay some creepies in this type of game. The characters all SEEM pretty cool and their portraits are incredible but it doesn't seem to be as super in-depth as you would think. There's some back and forth time jumps (flashbacks) that fill you in on the protagonist's backstory but I still feel the story was lacking in keeping my attention.

Additionally, the soundtrack left a little to be desired. It's not that it is bad or anything but normally you'd have a certain song stuck in your head after playing enough and nothing here really sticks out to me. It may sound picky but I just want to state that you may find yourself wanting to listen to your own tunes while fighting.

While Hunt the Night does do well in many areas, there are a few minor drawbacks to consider. The game's length could be slightly longer, as some players might crave more things to do and additional challenges. Additionally, although the game's difficulty curve is well-balanced for the most part, some sections might feel slightly repetitive due to similar enemy encounters throughout. There were even a few odd glitches where my character and even some enemies have disappeared into the world. A little head scratching but not nearly game breaking.

Overall, "Hunt the Night" is a pretty good PC game that successfully captures the essence of classic adventures while infusing it with its own unique style and narrative. With its great visuals, fun combat, and RPG inspired upgrades it is an experience worth diving into. Despite a couple of minor shortcomings, "Hunt the Night" offers a thrilling supernatural journey that will satisfy fans of the genre and leave them craving for more even if there happens to be no more to give. I recommend you give Hunt The Night a go to fulfill your bloodlust for all things supernatural.

Disney Dreamlight Valley: How To Equip And Use Your Glider

Are you wondering how to use your new Glider in Disney Dreamlight Valley? Have no fear as I am here to tell you exactly how to do it! If you happen to be blasting or skipping through menus in Disney Dreamlight Valley, you may be wondering how the heck to equip that shiny new surfboard glider you got. Well, all you have to do is go to your Wardrobe, scroll down to Gliders and select it! Easy as a hot dog! But how do you hop on this thing and use it? Well for that, first you MUST make sure your stamina bar is in the yellow. You do this by eating cooked meals that will take you above your maximum stamina bar. Once this is complete, just run for a few seconds until an icon appears in the bottom left side of the screen. Tap that button (For me, on Xbox, it's B) and PERFECTO! You'll be gliding in no time! Make sure to pay attention to your stamina bar as it will run out pretty quickly though! For more tips, opinions, and overall shenanigans, make sure to leave a comment and come back...

Movie Backlog: The Fast And The Furious (2001)

I'm a bit ashamed of myself. And, to a point, somewhat proud. I have never watched any of the Fast and Furious movies other than 2 Fast 2 Furious for some reason. So I got sick over the weekend and decided to start watching the entire season to see what I have missed over the last 20 years. Here are some of my thoughts on the first movie into this adrenaline-filled, NOS-injected, action-packed love story.  The Fast This movie starts out at a pretty fast pace. Quick racing, quick fights, all the machismo you can shake a stick at. We get to follow Brian O'Connor, played by the late Paul Walker. A blonde surfer type who is an undercover cop sent to investigate the infamous street racing gang leader, Dom Toretto (Vin Diesel). This is because a bunch of truck's have been hijacked and good ole Dommy boy is the main suspect. We find out the Brian likes tuna sandwiches. Pretty dang cool I guess. I'm not a car guy and I will never pretend to be, but what I noticed is there are ...

A.K.I Slithers into Street Fighter 6!

The second Street Fighter 6 DLC character is here! A.K.I, a brand new character to the series arrived this week, just in time for Halloween. Her slithery, unsettling, poison wielding moves will be sure to not only creep out players, but also shake things up for the online warriors out there.    She has a mix of mid and long range range moves, plus projectiles and specials that inflict poison on the opponent. Her moveset and specials take inspiration from F.A.N.G. Well... not surprising because she's an apprentice of F.A.N.G! Not only that, she's a little bit obsessed with him. Ok, maybe A LOT bit obsessed. Don’t worry though, she’s way cooler than F.A.N.G. Her design (I'm still 50/50 on the hair) and engaging move set make her way more appealing to use than her obsession.   Street Fighter's YouTube page has a great breakdown of her gameplay. If you want to learn a bit about her move set, strengths, and weaknesses, I recommend that you watch! So far I’m having a blast us...
