XDefiant to shut down in 2025

Ubisoft announced that XDefiant will be shut down in June 2025. XDefiant is a free-to-play FPS  that boasted a small install size (compared to behemoths such as Call Of Duty), frantic gameplay, and a roster of Ubisoft universe characters.

After a successful beta and a pretty good first season, XDefiant started losing players fast. It's a shame, too because it's a pretty good shooter. In fact, I thoroughly enjoyed playing it. Free-to-play games typically have the same issue though. If your gameplay isn't tweaked to perfection at launch, players will leave. They have nothing to lose since the game itself was free. Unfortunately, that was the case here. Players found that the gameplay loop largely remained the same with no game-changing updates or big reasons to return after a season.

If you downloaded XDefiant you will still be able to launch the game until servers close in June. If you purchased a Founder's Pack OR made any purchases in the last 30 days (up until December 3rd) you will receive a refund.

For what it is worth, it was an amazing attempt by Ubisoft San Francisco to reshape the mold that has been given to us year after year with shooters. With such loyal fan bases to others in the genre, it is difficult to pry players away from what they are accustomed to.

This update also comes with more announcements as Ubisoft expects to close two studios (Ubisoft San Francisco and Osaka) which will bring around 250 layoffs. Sad news and we wish nothing but the best for the developers in the future.

Disney Dreamlight Valley: How To Equip And Use Your Glider

Are you wondering how to use your new Glider in Disney Dreamlight Valley? Have no fear as I am here to tell you exactly how to do it! If you happen to be blasting or skipping through menus in Disney Dreamlight Valley, you may be wondering how the heck to equip that shiny new surfboard glider you got. Well, all you have to do is go to your Wardrobe, scroll down to Gliders and select it! Easy as a hot dog! But how do you hop on this thing and use it? Well for that, first you MUST make sure your stamina bar is in the yellow. You do this by eating cooked meals that will take you above your maximum stamina bar. Once this is complete, just run for a few seconds until an icon appears in the bottom left side of the screen. Tap that button (For me, on Xbox, it's B) and PERFECTO! You'll be gliding in no time! Make sure to pay attention to your stamina bar as it will run out pretty quickly though! For more tips, opinions, and overall shenanigans, make sure to leave a comment and come back...

Movie Backlog: The Fast And The Furious (2001)

I'm a bit ashamed of myself. And, to a point, somewhat proud. I have never watched any of the Fast and Furious movies other than 2 Fast 2 Furious for some reason. So I got sick over the weekend and decided to start watching the entire season to see what I have missed over the last 20 years. Here are some of my thoughts on the first movie into this adrenaline-filled, NOS-injected, action-packed love story.  The Fast This movie starts out at a pretty fast pace. Quick racing, quick fights, all the machismo you can shake a stick at. We get to follow Brian O'Connor, played by the late Paul Walker. A blonde surfer type who is an undercover cop sent to investigate the infamous street racing gang leader, Dom Toretto (Vin Diesel). This is because a bunch of truck's have been hijacked and good ole Dommy boy is the main suspect. We find out the Brian likes tuna sandwiches. Pretty dang cool I guess. I'm not a car guy and I will never pretend to be, but what I noticed is there are ...

Drova Review - An RPG Worthy Of Your Time

A dark and mysterious world awaits you! When I first loaded up Drova: Forsaken Kin, I was welcomed with some sort of familiarity. I felt like I have been here before. It wasn't a bad feeling, it was just that: a feeling. As I progressed through the opening moments, I already found myself wondering about the world I was in. "Why am I here?" This means that the story, the art, and the atmosphere already had me hooked. Drova is an action RPG with retro styled graphics that take me back to the older Diablos. With a loot system, crafting, side quests, and more, you feel right at home. The campaign itself is 40 hours! Well, a lot more if you are like me and take your time doing all the wrong things of exploration. Let's get into some nitty-gritty of the world of Drova and see if you should pick this up yourself. The story itself is a big mystery throughout. Per it's description:   Encounter a society where ancient restless spirits and divided factions battle for domina...
