Will The Nintendo Switch 2 Be Worth It? - Our Wishlist

I like the Nintendo Switch. I would like it a lot more with achievements (I need to feed my ego, leave me alone) but that is a topic for another day. The feeling of knowing I can take my console with me at any time and get a solid The Legend Of Zelda experience is weirdly comforting. Even if I never touch the thing while out, it becomes my safety net.

What I do not like is how games that aren't Nintendo look and feel on it. Heck, even some Nintendo games (looking at you, Pokemon) are a drag to get going. This feeling impairs my safety net as now, if it's not a pixel art game like Stardew Valley or a first party Mario game, I am not wanting to boot it up. Now, I fully understand that the Switch was never intended to be a 4K powerhouse. That makes sense to me. What I don't get is what Nintendo expected the shelf life of the console to be. They know by now how fast technology moves and how fast things become obsolete. So it's strange to me that the Switch was not built with the future in mind.

The Steam Deck came out quite recently and plays God Of War on it. God. Of. War. Have you seen any gameplay of Mortal Kombat 1 on the Switch? Have you? It is a thing. A thing that tells us "Hey I think it is time for the Switch 2." And yet, Nintendo has remained silent through all of 2024 about details on the new console. Rumors are flying around that it'll be like a Playstation 4. Great! But, how will that stack up in 5 years from now? I know I sound like I am complaining but really, I want to make sure that in a few years' time I am still wanting to play the Switch 2 rather than opt for the Playstation 6 or Xbox Series Z.

So what will make it worth it?

Processor: The processing power of the GODS. Well, something that can run Cyberpunk 2077. Seriously. I want Link to look like he can be inserted right into Night City and not look like your old CRT TV from 1997. I recognize that adding more horsepower makes it more expensive but c'mon. Let me not strain my eyes to see what sword I am holding in game while in handheld mode.

Achievements: I just want a little Mario star to pop up and tell me I squished 5,673 Goombas in total on the next Mario game. Is that too much to ask? This alone will keep me playing longer than graphics will and I think it can go a long way. Xbox and Playstation both offer these systems and the Switch 2 can easily tie it into their online rewards for profile icons and such that they already have.

Backwards Compatibility: It's a given but I would totally do a new playthrough of older games on a new system. Especially if they upscale resolutions. I've done it plenty of times for Xbox 360 games on the Xbox One and even so on Playstation games on the 5. And please, for the love of Yoshi, let me play Pokemon Red (or even Fire Red) on this dang thing.

Beefy E-Shop: Make. This. Faster. And. Less. Shovelware.

Personalization: Let me customize how my home screen looks. The current theme options for the Switch are "Light" and "Dark." Cool. Now let me have personalized backgrounds that I can via achievements or add my own screenshots.

This list seems minimal and obviously the Processor is for sure being upgraded. I just want a little more out of my Switch 2. Just that "Yeah you know what? Nintendo it is!" Because right now, I don't have that and even more so knowing that the new one is around the corner. So. Don't be scared Nintendo, give us a peek and not a leak and POP THOSE ACHIEVEMENTS PLEASE.

Disney Dreamlight Valley: How To Equip And Use Your Glider

Are you wondering how to use your new Glider in Disney Dreamlight Valley? Have no fear as I am here to tell you exactly how to do it! If you happen to be blasting or skipping through menus in Disney Dreamlight Valley, you may be wondering how the heck to equip that shiny new surfboard glider you got. Well, all you have to do is go to your Wardrobe, scroll down to Gliders and select it! Easy as a hot dog! But how do you hop on this thing and use it? Well for that, first you MUST make sure your stamina bar is in the yellow. You do this by eating cooked meals that will take you above your maximum stamina bar. Once this is complete, just run for a few seconds until an icon appears in the bottom left side of the screen. Tap that button (For me, on Xbox, it's B) and PERFECTO! You'll be gliding in no time! Make sure to pay attention to your stamina bar as it will run out pretty quickly though! For more tips, opinions, and overall shenanigans, make sure to leave a comment and come back...

Movie Backlog: The Fast And The Furious (2001)

I'm a bit ashamed of myself. And, to a point, somewhat proud. I have never watched any of the Fast and Furious movies other than 2 Fast 2 Furious for some reason. So I got sick over the weekend and decided to start watching the entire season to see what I have missed over the last 20 years. Here are some of my thoughts on the first movie into this adrenaline-filled, NOS-injected, action-packed love story.  The Fast This movie starts out at a pretty fast pace. Quick racing, quick fights, all the machismo you can shake a stick at. We get to follow Brian O'Connor, played by the late Paul Walker. A blonde surfer type who is an undercover cop sent to investigate the infamous street racing gang leader, Dom Toretto (Vin Diesel). This is because a bunch of truck's have been hijacked and good ole Dommy boy is the main suspect. We find out the Brian likes tuna sandwiches. Pretty dang cool I guess. I'm not a car guy and I will never pretend to be, but what I noticed is there are ...

Drova Review - An RPG Worthy Of Your Time

A dark and mysterious world awaits you! When I first loaded up Drova: Forsaken Kin, I was welcomed with some sort of familiarity. I felt like I have been here before. It wasn't a bad feeling, it was just that: a feeling. As I progressed through the opening moments, I already found myself wondering about the world I was in. "Why am I here?" This means that the story, the art, and the atmosphere already had me hooked. Drova is an action RPG with retro styled graphics that take me back to the older Diablos. With a loot system, crafting, side quests, and more, you feel right at home. The campaign itself is 40 hours! Well, a lot more if you are like me and take your time doing all the wrong things of exploration. Let's get into some nitty-gritty of the world of Drova and see if you should pick this up yourself. The story itself is a big mystery throughout. Per it's description:   Encounter a society where ancient restless spirits and divided factions battle for domina...
