Not only do we get our Tribal Chief as the WWE 2K25 cover star, 2K and Visual Concepts let us know that there is a ton more in store for the franchise. An open-world hub, new match types and more!
Roster Size?
We know what you want. "How big is the roster?" Well, 2K has confirmed that the game will feature over 300 superstars. 300. Say that again out loud. While we don't have the full list, you can expect the big name players like Cody Rhodes, Roman Reigns (obviously), Becky Lynch, LA Knight (YEAH!) and more.
New Match Types!
One thing WWE 2K24 did was bring excitement of the older games back with fresh game modes. We were able to fight on top of ambulances! It seems silly but adding these types of matches make for a great time even if they seem gimmicky. I mean, c'mon, it's wrestling! We need to get a little wacky sometimes. That being said, we got some new stuff coming!
Intergender matches - Want to take Rhea Ripley and destroy Dirty Dom? Oh yeah. You can! Intergender matches are a series first and will bring some very interesting matchups I am sure!
Bloodline Rules - Have everyone in the world interfere and get involved in the match. Think of Wrestlemania XL where Cody Rhodes took on Roman Reigns and my gosh did everyone show up. This will be that sort of match happening. I cannot wait.
These are very exciting additions to the game and it'll be great to see how it plays out in terms of the MyRise (they need a MyWISEman mode for this. Hire me, 2K!) story mode that 2K brings us each year.
Open World WWE!
Yep. An open-world hub along the lines of The City in NBA 2K, WWE is getting their own open-world space to sport your gear. Create your custom superstar (or abomination if you are me) and take on live events and challenges for rewards and more! Not much is known about this yet but I'm keeping my ears and eyes out for when we get more information.
Showcase: The Bloodline
Roman Reigns is the Tribal Chief. The head of the table. The OTC. But how did it come about? Relive the Bloodline's story featuring eras of the Samoan family's rise to a dynasty in the WWE. Paul Heyman hosts this year's showcase and it looks like we will have the ability to recreate and change some of the history in this year's iteration.
Release Date - March 14th
Get your hands on WWE 2K25 on March 14th. Want it early? You can get a special edition like the Deadman Edition (I once met The Undertaker at a Kmart in the 90's) or the Bloodline Edition to play one week early, March 7th.
