Backlog Chronicles: Cyberpunk 2077

Cyberpunk is a game. That's it. It is for sure a video game. Besides that fact it very well may be one of the most unfortunate launches in video game history. How does it hold up nearly TWO years later? Let's find out! Cyberpunk starts you off with some choices. Always pretty nice. I started this game when it came out and thought the character creator was pretty awesome. Especially for how little you actually see your character since there is no 3rd person mode. Weird.  Picking your lifestyle and gameplay style is up next and I took a NOMAD route. An outlier to the streets of Night City. I do things my way and my way only. Unless it is a really hard dialogue choice and I pick whatever is best. All of this at launch was pretty fun and it still is. It crashed on me every 10 minutes or so back at launch and my clothes..kept...disappearing..but so far so good! One thing that plagued this game back in 2020 were random (over 1,000) issues that most players had encountered. UI leaving...

NBA 2K23 Has RUINED My Social Life - NBA 2K23 Review

I'm an RPG guy. What's great about that is I can continue games at my pace, pause when I need to, save and exit when I want and engage in wonderfully crafted stories. My Online Game Brings All The Boys To The Yard Enter: NBA 2K23. I now have FOMO on gaining an chance to improve my shot, play basketball on a freaking trampoline or shoot WAY back behind the arc for a 4 point score.  My friends play this game and at first we started as a "ah maybe a few days for the review" type go. But now. NOW. It is ON. We fully stink up the Rec games. We stink up theater games. We stink up every single court we touch. And we cannot get enough. Pay Me To Play Me NBA 2K23 is fun. Absolutely. The fun DOES come at a price though. For full transparency, I received the Michael Jordan Edition of the game (Thanks 2K!) to review. This came with 100,000 VC (2K's virtual currency) to spend on my character. I did such a thing. My character was overall 80. I thought I could be competitive. I...

MultiVersus has fulfilled my Smash Burnout

Let's get one thing straight: MultiVersus is not Smash. It is CLEARLY inspired by it in a wave of games doing the same (Nickelodeon All Star Brawl being one of the most recent). While a lot of these wanna-bes fail short, MultiVersus pushes way ahead of the rest and shows it has what it takes to be a legit competitor to Nintendo's Ultimate fighter mash-up. What separates MultiVersus from everything else is the strategy. Cooldowns on attacks so you can't repeatedly spam certain moves over and over again (while you can, you get Attack Decay on attacks that make sure your repeated attacks do less damage), Wall jumping instead of ledge grappling (taken from Brawlhalla) and dodging becoming such a powerful tool in the absence of a block button. Perks are added specifically for each character/type. So Iron Giant doesn't feel the same as Shaggy You can also argue that WB may also have more of a recognizable roster than anyone else presenting this type of game (look, I love the...

Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Worldwide Reveal

It's that time of year again. Call Of Duty is ramping up its reveal season leading into the release of Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. The follow up to 2019's (pretty well received) Modern Warfare reboot is on the way with a release date of October 28th. This year, Call Of Duty seems to have upped their game by adding a more explosive campaign and seemingly a focus on team work. Will this mean a Co-Op campaign?? Check out the worldwide reveal here:

LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga REVIEW

LEGO games are rad. Rad. Absolutely rad. Not only are they really family friendly, but they've always been pretty dang hilarious to us "grown ups" as well. So what do you get when you combine all 9 Skywalker Star Wars films into one huge game? LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga. We'll start this review with a short opinion and then we will dive into the technical stuff. First, I love the game. If you have kids at home or are looking to relax and smash up any object in your path, you can never go wrong with the LEGO games. This one, however, feels different. An RPG-type system to level up, open world hub missions, and quirky but pretty darn good voice acting. It's my go-to right now for destress. I personally believe this is the best LEGO game ever assembled and I have no idea how it can be topped. REVIEW TIME! GRAPHICS  Let's start with your eyeballs. LEGO Star Wars (we'll keep it at this name for the sake of length) is a joy to look at. I have played a ...

NBA 2K22 New-Gen Patch Release 1.5!

NBA 2K22 has released it's newest New(next) Gen patch! If you were experiencing games that were getting disconnected due to an error in the City, those issues and more are addressed in this patch! Some of the things fixed are: Additional stability improvements in an ongoing effort to improve your user experience. Fixed an issue that was causing City/Rec/Pro-Am/W Online games to disconnect either before the game started or at the conclusion of the game. Addressed an error code issue that was preventing specific MyCAREER saves from being able to load into the City. Significantly improved loading speed when re-entering the City from a building interior (Apartment, Rec, Pro-Am, Event Center, etc.). Improved framerate when navigating the City on the Xbox Series X console. Traditional broadcast cameras are now available for use in MyNBA once again. Fixed an issue that resulted in some MyNBA Online saves to overwrite other pre-existing saves. Gym Rat and On-Court Coach badges are now corr...

Call Of Duty Vanguard BETA Impressions

World War 2 has happened so many times. In video games. You know what? I LOVE heading back to the period for my love of history. Call of Duty may not be exactly known for it's precise historical accuracy, but some of my favorite COD moments have happened in this WW2 era. Whether it was the launch of Call Of Duty 2 on the Xbox 360, or running around in the current gen versions of COD WW2, I've loved it. We have since moved a little bit forward in time, went back to the current years and even dabble in zombies. Vanguard looks to bring us back to when the planet was erupting into chaos for the second time and I will say that I was pretty pumped about it at first. After playing the beta, I have some doubts. This Is No Spawn Trap We're going to start off with what I feel should be the highest of high priorities. You see, Vanguard has a nice and vibrant world. Taking us to different locations that happened to be fought at during World War 2. The problem is, you get no time to tak...

NBA 2K22 Review

BASKETBALL SEASON IS UPON US! You know what that means? That's right, another year of NBA 2K!   *PS5 game key provided to me by 2K. I was provided a code and not paid for my opinions I am going to get this out first: I LOVE this year's game. (All thoughts and opinions here are expressed from the Next Gen version.) Truthfully,  I wasn't the biggest fan of last year's and I feel it was because of the current/next gen tweaks that needed to be ironed out. That being said, we do have our fair share of problems here as well. They seem pretty miniscule in the overall sense of things, though. I can safely say that 2K22 feels great this season. Dribbling is fun, defense is THERE and the MyCareer makes you want to grind it out (in a good way). Shooting felt like I didn't need to spend 5 million VC to actually be able to shoot on the court. I am happy! Let's take a deeper dive, shall we? MyCareer This is what you're here for. The meat of the game is right here in MyCa...

Tales Of Arise First Impressions

I don't have a ton of time to play the games I want. It's infuriating. Jobs and responsibilities get in the way. Why does life have to be so dang needy?! I want to be involved and immersed in a fantasy world while fighting giant monsters. Invading castles and taking down the big baddies. Enter: Tales Of Arise. This is the 4067th entry in the series of which I have played 0. Joking aside, I have actually NEVER played a Tales game and there have been 17 games so far. As a first timer, I had no idea what I was in for. 30 some hours in, I can say what I got was a good time.  Out of all the games I currently playing (Scarlet Nexus, Final Fantasy 7, The Yakuza series, etc) Tales of Arise is consistently on my mind.  After the first initial hour or so, I was a tad overwhelmed as the game has a metric ton of dialogue and stoppages. So I felt like I was getting more of a cinematic experience rather than a game. I trudged on and gave it a bit more. It started to flesh out.  ...
