Palworld: Is It Pokemon Or Is It Ark?

Palworld has released and has come out swinging HARD. Knocking Fortnite off of the most played list, selling a gazillion copies and, stirring up controversies. That's right, I am sure you have heard the rumors of AI assets, Pokemon modeling theft, and overall a general sense of "This is definitely a knock off Nintendo game." But does that deter you? I see the numbers and it looks like the consensus is no. Palworld itself has sold over 8 MILLION copies of the game. Proving one of two things: People do not care about how a game is made, as long as it has hype, they will buy it. OR people have been sick of the recent releases of Pokemon and were looking to find something they can be content with. Actually, I think it's both of the above. Now, this is a game that has been branded as "Pokemon with guns" and I have played it and while it for sure has the undertones of the game, it feels so much different. To me, Palworld feels more like Ark with creatures that vag

E3 Is Officially Dead

The former video game conference juggernaut, E3, has announced today that is no more. What used to be a spectacle for media goers, video game enthusiasts and more has failed with their expectations over the past few years especially after Covid-19 hit.  Other conferences and award shows such as The Video Game Awards, and each company's own showcases have sort of diminished the appeal of E3. At least from a business perspective.  Who knows if something else will come from the ashes of a legend, and we will be here to find out. But with so many other ways to get your video game news, it may be unlikely we get another revival attempt from E3. pic.twitter.com/y6dtVkBvNI — E3 (@E3) December 12, 2023

Movie Backlog: The Fast And The Furious (2001)

I'm a bit ashamed of myself. And, to a point, somewhat proud. I have never watched any of the Fast and Furious movies other than 2 Fast 2 Furious for some reason. So I got sick over the weekend and decided to start watching the entire season to see what I have missed over the last 20 years. Here are some of my thoughts on the first movie into this adrenaline-filled, NOS-injected, action-packed love story.  The Fast This movie starts out at a pretty fast pace. Quick racing, quick fights, all the machismo you can shake a stick at. We get to follow Brian O'Connor, played by the late Paul Walker. A blonde surfer type who is an undercover cop sent to investigate the infamous street racing gang leader, Dom Toretto (Vin Diesel). This is because a bunch of truck's have been hijacked and good ole Dommy boy is the main suspect. We find out the Brian likes tuna sandwiches. Pretty dang cool I guess. I'm not a car guy and I will never pretend to be, but what I noticed is there are

The Day Before Studio Has Shut Down

In case you haven't heard of The Day Before, Fntastic studios announced a revolutionary open world post apocalyptic world video game a few years back. The teasers all boasted stunning visuals and exciting gameplay. The trailers alone excited fans of the genre and it became one of Steam's most sought-after games. Well, after years of setbacks (including a name change as well as other controversies that even led the developer to call out "haters"), the game FINALLY released on Steam and boy was it...bad. Unplayable actually. And I don't mean like Anthem where there was actually a game hidden behind the brokenness. I mean like, players could not even start the first mission as they were spawning into the game through the walls and floor of the map. That's even if they could log in to begin with. The game was littered with reused and default Unreal Engine assets of a basic survival MMO game. It also ended up being a generic extraction shooter. With all the false a
