Is New World: Aeternum Good? Beta Impressions

Over the weekend, Amazon Games let us enjoy the open beta for New World: Aeternum. Over this same weekend, I have discovered that this is exactly the type of MMO I have been looking for on consoles. With already established titles such as Elder Scrolls Online and Black Desert, both of which are great in their own ways, I still felt something was missing. I am not sure why, but New World reminds me much of my first time playing World Of Warcraft way back in 2004. I'm old, okay? So let us jump into some of the good and some of the bad and get an answer on whether or not you should play New World at launch. Beta Blockers I think betas are great. They're great for server load tests, bug fixes, and players get a chance to mess around with the game and decide if they like it. When I first loaded up New World (I have not played on PC previous to this) on my Playstation 5, I did not know what to think. The character creator was alright but I couldn't help but notice the lack of det

NBA 2K25 - The Review!

NBA 2K25 is HERE and while the virtual currency (VC) problem still rears its ugly head, it is clear that 2K is looking to make sure we all get back to the game that we love. Improvements all around bring together a great experience in the basketball world that are only slightly bogged down by not spending enough. I played well over 25 hours of NBA 2K25 and dove into the majority of each and every feature in the game. While some things feel the same such as Play Now, huge overhauls of MyCareer and MyTeam have breathed new life into the series. The City Life For Me One of my favorite revamps this year is with The City. Not only is the map a LOT smaller (a great thing) but it allows very easy access to courts, matchmaking, and storefronts. The coolest thing is that literally every building you see has a purpose. Whether you are wanting some new threads, or needing to defeat a boss in a streetball battle, they're all VERY close to eachother. No more walking to 7 minutes to your next de

Concord Proves The Industry Needs Change

If you haven't already heard, developer Firewalk has announced that Concord will be taken offline on September 6th, 2024. Refunds will be issued for anyone who purchased the game. This comes just two weeks after the game's release. While early reviews and previews actually had some decent things to say about Concord , a lot of gamers felt it was just "too much like Overwatch with nothing new." This goes to show how loyal gamers already are to established series and whether or not that is to a fault is starting to rear its head now. Concord was reported to take over 8 years in development and cost millions to make. A lot of time, effort, and money went into building this world and experience. For a game with some quality opinions to be shut down a few weeks after release and not JUST because of the gameplay, is quite interesting. I absolutely feel for the people who took the time to work hard and create a video game as we all know it's not easy by any means. But I

Are We Still Excited For New Switch Games?

The Nintendo Switch has been a phenomenal console in its run. An absolute success for Nintendo financially and for gamers, we got a (mostly) full console experience on the go! Mario Odyssey on the train? Check. Skyrim on the toilet? Double check. Being able to play Breath of the Wild and the vast amount of Pokémon games anywhere and at any time has been an awesome time over the last 7 or so years and more people than ever have been able to play cool video games. In its later years, though, we've started to see a decline in what the console itself can actually do. Tears of the Kingdom pushed the Switch to its limits and while it is extremely impressive, it is hard not to think of what the game could look and feel like on better hardware. Super Mario RPG, Thousand Year Door, Kirby and the Forgotten Land and plenty others are examples of how awesome it can actually be. A lot of ports that come to the Switch often fail in comparison to their heavy duty counterparts (looking at you Mort
